Harris Rd, Busselton Footpath Construction
Published on Thursday, 24 April 2025 at 9:17:45 AM
The City of Busselton will shortly be constructing a new footpath on Harris Road, from Carey Street extending to Ford Road. These works will improve pedestrian safety and create a more accessible environment for the community with linkage to the local park.
The City reviews all path requests to determine a priority order, with the Harris Road path proposal resulting from community feedback and assessment of road safety statistics. The construction of this path acknowledges the importance of this connection for pedestrians, cyclists, and other non-motorised users.
Maintaining a continuous alignment at the back of the kerb will require the removal of one street tree, however, to maintain our natural environment, we will replant a new tree in its place.
These footpath works are scheduled to start in May, with completion planned by the end of June, subject to weather. During this time it is our intent to undertake these works from approximately 7.00am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday, with the potential of some work being carried out on Saturdays. Temporary traffic management arrangements will be in place while works are underway, with roads fully open during evenings and weekends.
If the works are going to directly impact your property, our site supervisor will contact you beforehand to ensure prior notice is given and to discuss appropriate temporary parking arrangements. Once the footpath has been constructed, there will still be a 48 hour curing period for the new footpath to fully set, so to ensure the highest quality finish please avoid driving over the new path during this period, and where possible please also avoid walking on it.
Every effort will be made to minimise any inconvenience, and your patience and cooperation is appreciated. Please feel free to contact Customer Service on 08 9781 0444 if you have any queries.
