Alfresco Dining

The City of Busselton oversees commercial activities that occur on public land throughout the City of Busselton locality.

If you would like to use City of Busselton land to conduct a commercial activity, you are required to obtain the relevant permit from the City of Busselton.

What is alfresco dining?

Alfresco dining is where customers dine adjacent to an established food business, generally using footpaths, verges, car parking bays and reserve land. Also referred to as Outdoor Eating Facilities.

Can I add alfresco dining to an existing food business?

Yes. On successful application, City owned land located adjacent to food premises can be used to provide outdoor eating spaces.

What do I need to consider?

In considering applications the City will review:

  • Pedestrian safety
  • The position of the outdoor area and size in proportion to existing food businesses
  • The visual aesthetic of furniture and structures

What will it cost?

The application fee for an alfresco/outdoor eating permit is $167.
