Emergency Management
Local Emergency Management Arrangements
Under the provisions of section 41 the Emergency Management Act 2005 a local government is to prepare Local Emergency Management Arrangements (LEMA) for its District.
The LEMA sets out:
- The City’s policies for emergency management
- The roles and responsibilities of public authorities and other persons involved in emergency management in the City
- Provisions about the coordination of emergency operations and activities relating to emergency management
- A description of emergencies that are most likely to occur in the City
- Strategies and priorities for emergency management in the City
- Relevant matters about emergency management in the City as prescribed by Emergency Management Regulations 2006
- Other matters about emergency management in the District that the City deems appropriate
The LEMA comprises the following documents:
- Appendix 1: City of Busselton Localities Map (contained in main document)
- Appendix 2: Local Emergency Management Structure (contained in main document)
- Appendix 3: List of Significant Public Events (contained in main document)
- Appendix 4: Contacts, Special Needs Groups, Resources and Critical Infrastructure Directory (confidential)
- Appendix 5: Local Emergency Welfare Plan (managed by Department of Communities)
- Appendix 6: Local Evacuation Plan
- Appendix 7: Recovery Plan
- Appendix 8: Animal Welfare Plan
