Dunsborough Boat Ramp Works

Published on Wednesday, 30 April 2025 at 2:00:35 PM

The Dunsborough Boat Ramp will be closed from mid-May for approximately 1-2 weeks (weather depending) whilst we undertake some critical upgrades.

This ramp is often exposed to strong waves, especially during winter storms, and this has been washing the sand at the base away, causing ongoing erosion.

We will be working to strengthening the base of the boat ramp to make it more stable and secure by extending the foundation down much further, either to the solid bedrock or to a level deeper than the area where the water currently causes the most erosion. This will help prevent ongoing damage from erosion and make it safer for people to launch and retrieve boats. It will also help reduce the need for frequent repairs which should reduce the cost of maintenance to our ratepayers.

We thank you for your patience while we deliver these improvements. If you are looking for an alternative ramp during this time, the closest options are Quindalup Volunteer Marine Rescue Boat Ramp and Abbey Boat Ramp.
