The City of Busselton is pleased to announce that its Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) 2025-2029 was endorsed by the Council at its meeting of 12 March 2025.

The new DAIP closely aligns with the objectives of the City’s Council Plan and provides a strategic direction and comprehensive framework to improve access and inclusion across the City’s services, events, buildings and facilities, information, quality of service, feedback and complaints, public consultation and employment.

The DAIP was developed through an extensive community consultation and engagement process, which included an online survey, workshops, pop-up engagements, working with local community groups and the City’s Disability, Access and Inclusion Plan Reference Group.

Mayor Phill Cronin said: “It’s encouraging to see this plan shaped by the voices of the community and individuals living with disabilities.”

“Their contribution has been invaluable in developing a plan that reflects the needs and priorities of the community and key stakeholders. The DAIP demonstrates the City’s ongoing dedication to fostering a connected, inclusive, accessible and welcoming environment for everyone.”

The City will allocate $100,000 in its 2025/26 draft budget and in subsequent annual budgets, to support the implementation of key actions and outcomes identified within the Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2025-2029.
