Economic Development and Marketing Grants to bolster business and industry

Funding provided through the City’s Business Development, Events and Marketing Program (BDEMP) in 2025 will directly support proposals that drive positive economic outcomes across the City of Busselton.

Funded through the Commercial, Industrial and Holiday Home differential rate, the City released its first round of Economic Development and Marketing Grants through BDEMP in August 2023, as part of a broad strategy to support priorities identified in the City’s Economic Development Strategy 2022-27. Now in its second year, grant funding of $230,260 of a total funding pool of $383,770 has been allocated across 14 different projects.

A Busselton AI Innovation Sumit, a super scaled art project showcasing the Yallingup creative sector, Reptile Rampage and a Whirlwind Weekend in Busselton influencer campaign are some of the latest economic development projects to be funded. Following the success from last year, Future Founders have also received grant funding.

Mayor Phill Cronin said, “This stream of funding has enabled our local business community greater input into how the differential rate is spent.”

“To foster collaboration, leverage of funding and industry development, this funding is for the benefit of the broader business community. This means we are looking for projects that will contribute to the economic, social, environmental and cultural development of the City.”

“Funding has encouraged some exciting, innovative and collaborative initiatives for businesses in the City, providing for a bright future.”

Round 2 in grant funding will close on 17 March 2025. Enquiries are welcome by calling the Economic Development team on 08 9781 0444 or emailing economicdevelopment@busselton.wa.gov.au
