Did you know that of approximately 610,000 children and young people in WA, up to 17% live below the poverty line? At some local schools, as many as 1 in 5 students start the new school year with nothing in their schoolbags.
If you have excess stationery, we know these kids would love to get their hands on it!
The City's Waste Education Team is working with Give Write to launch their program locally to repurpose stationery.
Give Write is a not-for-profit group taking donations of new and pre-loved school stationery to recycle, repackage and re-gift to WA kids in need.
As well as helping local families, the program is also aimed at promoting recycling to reduce landfill among numerous other benefits.
Donation bins are now located at the City of Busselton Administration Building, the Busselton Library and the Naturaliste Community Centre until the 18th of February.
