The City of Busselton has expanded beach access options for the summer months with new matting at 3 different locations across the City. This trial includes different types of beach access matting to enhance universal access to the water’s edge. It aligns with the City’s commitment to inclusivity, as outlined in the City’s Disability Access and Inclusion Plan. Over the summer months, the City will monitor maintenance needs and assess the suitability of each matting type. This trial will help determine the best matting for continued use.
Check out the new beach matting locations:
- Meelup beach (connected to the new footpath)
- Beach near Sensations Café (Port Geographe) (linking footpath to water’s edge)
- Dunsborough beach enclosure
These additions join existing beach access matting at King Street and Busselton Foreshore Central (near Equinox).
