The City has been awarded the 2022 Planning Institute of Australia (WA) Award for Climate Change and Resilience. This was for the recently adopted Coastal Hazard Risk Management and Adaptation Plan (CHRMAP).
The CHRMAP is a strategic planning document that identifies the current and projected extent of risk to assets from coastal hazards, the potential consequences of these hazards and necessary actions to adapt. This document is important as the City has significant infrastructure and assets in close proximity to the coast.
Watch this video below to hear Mayor Henley discusses CHRMAP with Director of Planning and Development Services, Paul Needham.
