The City of Busselton is inviting submissions for Round 2 of its Economic Development and Marketing Grants.

Grants between $1,000 and $30,000 are available to support collaborative projects that contribute to the City of Busselton's economic, social, environmental and cultural development.

The City of Busselton released Round 1 of these grants in August 2023 as part of a broader strategy to support priorities identified in the City of Busselton's Economic Development Strategy 2022-27.

Successful recipients of Round 1 include:

  • Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association (MRBTA) who developed a printed map and guide for visitors aimed to promote local businesses
  • IPS Management Consultants who held a series of free small business workshops
  • Busselton Chamber Commerce Industry (BCCI) to assist with launch of their Busselton Business Directory to raise awareness of local business and better promote “Buy Local”
  • South West Angels for the “Future Founders” a pilot program offering 10 scholarships to local youth aged 16-24 years of age to help turn a business idea into reality.

Mayor Phill Cronin congratulated recipients for their innovative ideas to build capacity and promote the region. “I am very impressed with the calibre of projects the City has been able to fund out of Round 1 Economic Development and Marketing Grants.” said Mayor Cronin.

“I encourage local business, marketing organisations and not for profits to collaborate on ideas and take advantage of the funding on offer, which is made available through the City of Busselton’s Commercial, Industrial and Holiday Homes differential rates.”

Applications for Round 2 are invited from not for profits, Incorporated Associations, Peak Bodies and Business Clusters. (Business Clusters are defined as a group of four (4) or more individually owned and operated businesses from the same industry or of a similar nature working collaboratively in a given geographic area.) Individual businesses or singular commercial organisations operating on an expected profit base are not eligible.

Program Application forms and guidelines are available on the City’s website and Economic Development and Marketing Grants Program page.
