Yellow Dog Campaign

Yellow Dog - Know the dogs who need their space

Yellow Dog is a campaign that started in Europe and aims to improve community safety and dog wellbeing by clearly and easily identifying dogs who need space and prefer to be left alone.

It promotes awareness and understanding, as well as supports dogs that are nervous and anxious, old and grumpy, in training, unwell or recovering from an injury or illness, being rehabilitated or simply prefer to keep their distance from people and other dogs.

To assist your ‘yellow dog’, we encourage owners to use a yellow bandana, vest, lead or ribbon to let others know at a glance, not to approach their dog as they prefer to be left alone.

If you see a dog wearing a yellow bandana or ribbon, please do not approach the dog or its owner.

By educating dog owners and the public we hope to create a safer and more harmonious environment for dogs and their human companions.

If you would like a yellow ribbon or bandana for your dog, visit the City of Busselton Administration at 2 Southern Drive, Busselton between 8.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday. Or at the Naturaliste Community Centre, 21 Dunsborough Lakes Drive, Dunsborough 8.30am - 12.00pm (Whilst stocks last)
