Economic Development and Marketing Grants Program
July 2026 – Update
2026/27 Annual Grant Round on Hold
The City advises that the next annual grant funding round for the Economic Development Grant Funding Program will be temporarily placed on hold.
This pause will allow the City to undertake an independent business engagement survey to better understand how the City may improve support to businesses through this funding program.
The operating environment for businesses in the City has evolved since the funding program was initiated. It is timely to check in with businesses and understand their current needs. Direct input from businesses will help shape the focus of resources, find opportunities to support capacity and resilience building and inform programming conducted by the City and other associations the City collaborates with.
The survey will seek feedback from the business community and key stakeholders to ensure that future funding arrangements are aligned with expectations and deliver maximum economic benefit.
What this means for applicants
- The upcoming annual grant round in August 2026 will not proceed at this time
- No new applications will be accepted until further notice
- Existing approved projects will continue as per funding agreements
Next steps: The outcomes of the engagement process will help inform any future changes to the program, including funding structure and eligibility criteria.
Further updates, including the timeline for future grant rounds, will be provided once the review is complete.
